Challenge

Constant Power Solutions were selected to provide a solution which would power the main Abbey as well as an office set up which is situated on their vast grounds.

The Abbey itself was founded in 1145. Taken from its monastic residents by Henry VIII and given to John Russell, 1st Earl of Bedford, in 1547, it became the seat of the Russell family and the Dukes of Bedford.

Solution

Our Business Development manager was on site with one of our approved installation companies to decipher the power required for the abbey as well as strategically plan the delivery and installation of the two generators.

From our guidance, we advised the customer of their need for two Diesel Generators (due to the difference in the proximity of the two sites) AP450S Perkins with Meccalte generator and AP80S Perkins with Meccalte Generator, both with Deepsea 4520 controller. The generators were built on site in Selby and delivered by Hiab on site in Bedfordshire.

The installation work was carried out by one of our approved dealers, who have helped us with a number of generator installations, with our technical director Victor will be on site once the installation process if finalized so he can do the final commissioning.

Results

This is one of many Listed estates that we have not only supplied a generator for, but also installation and we are working with a few more estates who are looking to purchase UK Standby Power Diesel Generators, so they are not restricted if they are affected by Power Cuts in the future.

The Abbey is also now home to a 3000 acre Deer Park and our Business Development manager Stephen Lucas was lucky enough to see a larger number of deer on his travels!
